LOADING ISSUES

It can take up to 5 minutes to load the game the first time - depending on your internet speed. If you encounter a loading issue, or black screen, please use the following checklist.

  1. A 64bit Operating System is RECOMMENDED;
    • Check "PC" specifications "Right click the START Button > click SYSTEM" : [⇱ CHECK PC]
    • Check "MAC" specifications "Launch SYSTEM PROFILER > click SOFTWARE heading in CONTENTS" : [⇱ CHECK MAC]

GOOGLE CHROME

  1. Download the latest "Google Chrome": [DOWNLOAD CHROME ⇒]
  2. Update to the latest Google Chrome by going to "Menu > Help > About Google Chrome": [⇱ UPDATE CHROME]
  3. Disable all Browser Extensions to avoid conflicts;
    • TIP: You can quickly test this in Chrome by creating an Incognito Window with "CTRL + SHIFT + N".
    • NOTE: If you use Incognito Mode you must "Create an Account" and "Login" to Save your Stats and Costumes.
  4. Check Hardware Acceleration is turned ON via "Menu > Settings > Advanced > Enable hardware acceleration when available": [⇱ CHROME ADVANCED]
  5. Check WebGL is Active by typing "chrome://gpu/" in the address bar and compare with the following: [⇱ CHROME WEBGL]
    • Enable WebGL by typing "chrome://flags#enable-es3-apis" in the address bar and compare with the following: [⇱ CHROME FLAG]
  6. Check Javascript and Cookies are both allowed by clicking the symbol to the left of the URL: [⇱ CHROME SETTINGS]
  7. On Game Update try clearing cache then refreshing the page via "Menu > History > Clear Browsing Data > Tick Cached Images & Files > Clear": [⇱ CHROME CACHE]

MOZILLA FIREFOX

  1. Download the latest "Mozilla Firefox": [DOWNLOAD FIREFOX ⇒]
  2. Update to the latest Mozilla Firefox by going to "Menu > Help > About Firefox": [⇱ UPDATE FIREFOX]
  3. Disable all Browser Extensions to avoid conflicts;
    • TIP: You can quickly test this in Firefox by creating a Private Window with "CTRL + SHIFT + P".
    • NOTE: If you use Private Mode you must "Create an Account" and "Login" to Save your Stats and Costumes.
  4. Check Hardware Acceleration is turned ON via "Menu > Options > Advanced > Use hardware acceleration when available": [⇱ FIREFOX ADVANCED]
  5. Check WebGL is Active by typing "about:config" in the address bar and compare with the following: [⇱ FIREFOX WEBGL]
  6. Check Javascipt is allowed by typing "about:config" in the address bar and check "javascript.enabled == true": [⇱ FIREFOX JAVASCRIPT]
  7. Check Cookies are allowed by clicking the symbol to the left of the URL: [⇱ FIREFOX COOKIES]
  8. On Game Update try clearing cache then refreshing the page via "Menu > History > Clear Recent History > Tick Cache > Clear": [⇱ FIREFOX CACHE]
  9. If the "AdBlock Message" is showing when AdBlock is disabled or not installed - make sure to change Firefox's Tracking protection to "Only in Private Window or Never": [⇱ FIREFOX TRACKING]
CAUTION: Some Anti-Virus programs with "Browser Protection" have been known to block the game from loading - Disable at your own risk and responsibility.

NETWORK PERFORMANCE

As with any multiplayer game, the network performance of Brutes.io will be determined by how "low and reliable" your "Ping" is. Brutes.io will attempt to place you on the closest regional Server, with the lowest Ping (preferably Less than 100ms) on Game Load.

  1. Please DO NOT switch away from the Game Tab while it is loading and checking your ping, as it may fail to connect you to the best server.
  2. Once you have loaded into a room, you can check your "Current Server, Room Number and Ping" at the bottom of the game screen: [⇱ SERVER STATS]
    • If you find yourself on the wrong server, click "Change Server" on the main menu to choose another: [⇱ CHANGE SERVER]
  3. If your ping is high while the game is checking, or if you are on another browser tab, you may be placed in a "High Ping" room - visible in the "Room Number" with the letters "HP" - to correct this - wait for your ping to settle then click "Reload" on the main menu: [⇱ RELOAD ROOM]
    • If you switch away from the Game Tab at any time, your Ping will increase - upon switching back it will take a few seconds for the Ping to settle.
    • We recommend avoiding 'High Ping' rooms - as they are generally full of players with bad connections, so your experience will be diminished.

If you experience "High Ping" (greater than 100ms) - please use the following checklist.

  1. For the best possible result, we recommend a hardwired "LAN" connection, direct to the router.
  2. If you are using a "WiFi" connection, your connectivity reliability will be affected by nearby WiFi networks and other devices on your Wifi network.
    • We recommend switching your WiFi Channel on your Router to a clear "Channel", away from neighbouring routers.
  3. Any devices transferring files or "Downloading" from the internet will negatively impact your speed and ping.
    • This includes websites such as Youtube, or any Application that utilizes the network - be sure to check and close any background programs that may be updating, such as Steam - plus check with other users of your network to see if they are currently downloading or browsing the internet.
  4. If you are using "Discord" - we highly recommend downloading the standalone Desktop App (to avoid switching browser tabs): [DOWNLOAD DISCORD ⇒]
  5. For the best performance - please close all other Open Browser Tabs while playing.
    • Your Ping will also be affected by your Framerate or FPS - so make sure to follow the Performance Tips below.

FRAMERATE PERFORMANCE

Brutes.io utilizes the Unity Game Engine with Cutting-Edge WEBGL Browser Technology - therefore several factors can greatly affect game performance.

  1. We recommend trying the latest version of either "Google Chrome" or "Mozilla Firefox" - as results may vary per computer.
  2. Make sure to have all other "Browser Tabs" closed and close all unneccessary "Background Programs", as they will negatively affect performance.
  3. If you are experiencing performance problems, try disabling all "Browser Extensions" - as these have been known to cause issues.
  4. WebGL utilizes your "GPU", so please update your "Graphics Driver" to the latest version: [NVIDIA DRIVERS ⇒] | [AMD DRIVERS ⇒] | [INTEL DRIVERS ⇒]
  5. Newer "GPU's", switch to "FullScreen" in the top left "MENU" - for low framerates we recommend "Windowed" mode or "Fullscreen Off": [⇱ FULLSCREEN MODE]
